David "Pops" Davis

David R. Davis, age 77, of Fenwick passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in the comfort of his home.

Fondly known as Pops, he was a family man to the core.  He drove truck for Shook Asphalt for many years and was a talented mechanic.  Pops could build just about anything out of nothing!  He lived his life on the edge; enjoying motorcycles and dirt track racing, and even found time for salmon fishing.  Above all else, Pops loved his children and grandchildren; he will be missed by many.

Left to cherish Pops’ memory are his daughters, Kimberly Davis (Jack Johnson) of Stanton, Darlene Davis, and Tammy Davis; sons, Duane (Kelly) Ortiz of Greenville, and Gary Wright of Sidney; grandchildren, Samantha (William) Ruid of Fenwick, Victoria Wright of Fenwick, Aaliyah Campbell of Stanton, and Dakota Wright of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Terry, Kyra, Kash, Graci, and Bryce; and many friends.

Pops is preceded in death by his parents, David & Bertha (Bowers) Davis, and several siblings.

A Celebration of Life for Pops will take place on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at Simpson Family Funeral Homes (246 S. Main St., Sheridan).
