David Perkins

David Perkins, age 83, of Edmore, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 23, 2022. Dave was born in Edmore on June 26, 1938 and lived in the Edmore and McBride area his entire life. He attended the McBride School and graduated from Edmore High School in 1956. He then attended Michigan State and married Sharon, the girl of his dreams, at the United Brethren Church in Six Lakes in 1957. Together, they raised their four children, Dan, Debbie, David Tim, and Dana.

Dave was a farmer at heart and together with his father, Clarence and brothers, Jim and John, they owned and operated Townview Farms until his retirement.

Dave enjoyed traveling the Upper Peninsula and Dave and Sharon went “up north” many times with their children and grandchildren. Together they walked over vast areas of the UP. Dave also made many trips to the UP to go deer hunting.

Dave was a member of the Day Bethel Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed listening as Sharon played the organ for the service. He also served as Deacon, Trustee, and taught the young people's Sunday School classes.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Violet Perkins and by his “little buddy” and grandson, Llhee Daane Perkins who went to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve in 2011.

Dave had a great love for all his family and enjoyed watching their ball games for many years.

Dave is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon; children, Daniel (Shelly) Perkins, Deborah (Jim) Baker, David Tim (Sheila) Perkins, and Dana (Jim) Fisk; grandchildren, Jim (Lindsay) Baker, Josh (Leslie) Baker, Loren Perkins, Tyler (Jessica) Perkins, Lindy Perkins, Alyssa Baker (Rich Hopkins), Lance Perkins, Travis (Carisa) Perkins, Logan Perkins, LaNel Perkins (Tyler Farrell), Jordan Baker, Trista Perkins, Andy (Amber) Fisk; great grandchildren, Max, Heartley, Karlie, Isabell, Violette, Raelynn, Rose, Claire, Noah, Sadie Ann, Everly, David Victor, Kaden and Axel; siblings, James (Irene) Perkins, Diana (Norman) Crooks, John (Sandra) Perkins; and brother-in-law, Joseph (Doris) Shaw.

Visitation for Dave is being held on Monday, March 28th from 4 to 7 pm at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.).

Funeral services for Dave will be on Tuesday, March 29th at 1 pm also at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton.

Final interment will be at McBride Cemetery.
