Darrell A. Martin, age 82 of Stanton, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Laurels of Carson City.
If you were looking for someone to brighten your day Darrell was that guy. He had a positive outlook on life and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He dearly loved his children and especially all of his grandchildren. Over the years he taught and showed his family many things, but most importantly, he taught them respect, courtesy, manners and how to treat people; lessons he constantly modeled for them through his actions. He was quick witted and always had a fast comeback for people. He was always in search of a deal and loved to buy and sell cars. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Surviving Darrell are his daughters, Noreen (Lester) Beiler of Atwood, Illinois; Darla (Ross) Bruce of Hiawatha, Kansas; Karen (Leslie) Toews of Clayton, Wisconsin; sons, Dean (Carolyn) Martin of Carson City; Mark (Naomi) Martin of Middleton; special friend, Jan Bowerman; brother, George (Barb) Martin, Jr. of Twin Lakes; the mother of their children, Marjorie Martin of Carson City; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, George & Marion (Grey) Martin; two sisters, Thelma Daggett and Marie Waid and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services for Darrell are being held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, beginning at 3:30 PM. Visitation will be one-hour prior from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street). Final interment will be at Evergreen Township Cemetery.
