Daniel Lewis Nash Jr, 95, of Sidney passed away on December 3, 2020 at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville.
Daniel was born on November 20, 1925 on his Mother's birthday in Troy, Kansas. The son of Daniel & Bertha (Bean) Nash. He was retired from the National Guard but was also in the US Army and Navy. He was also a parachuter making over 100 jumps. He then worked as a mechanic and was known as "the transmission man". He later took up, in his retirement years, selling trim and working at this until he broke his hip in August 2017. He loved staying busy and is now with his Lord and Saviour.
He was married on August 8, 1947 to the love of his life Betty Ann Garber. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage before her death on December 27, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by his son Daniel Nash 3rd, a great-grandchild Daniel MacDonald, his mother Bertha Nash, father Daniel Nash Sr, mother-in-law Mabel Koch, fathers-in-law Abraham Garber, Herman Koch, siblings Melvin Nash, Madeline & (Jack) Roberts, Ken & (Bonnie) Nash, June Craver, Dona (Gary) Dakin, Roy (Sandy) Nash, Steven Nash and Wayne (Paula) Nash, brothers & sisters-in-law Dorothy (Earl) Cable, Nada (Harvey) Long, Esther (Harold) Caukin, Robert (Sylvia) Garber, Bernette (Harlo) Ronning, Harold (Mary) Garber, Josephine (Albert) Weaver, Raymond Garber, Merle (Marge) Garber, Thomas Garber and Wesley Garber; siblings-in-law Harry Townsend, Doyle Reitz, George Greiner & Lucille Tessman.
He is survived by his children Sandy (Bob) MacDonald of Sheridan, Brinda (Ron Cornelisse) Oberg of Newaygo, Pam (Bob) Silverthorn of Sidney, Jean Nash of Sheridan and Randy Nash of Sidney, 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great- grandchildren, sister Betty (Larry) Bennett, sisters-in-law Barb Nash, Gladys Greiner, Arlene Garber, Mike Tessman and many nieces and nephews.
