Daniel Cole

Daniel Cole, age 76, of Stanton, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, in Grand Rapids at Spectrum Health Butterworth.

Dan was a guy who loved helping others and giving back. He proudly served his country during Vietnam as a member of the US Army. Dan was a member of the Frost Seventh-day Adventist church and Sheridan VFW Post 5065. He enjoyed writing poetry, being outdoors, horseback riding, and gardening.

Dan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; daughter, Heather (Jeffrey) Cobb of Edmore; son, Matthew Cole of Vestaburg; grandson, Jesse Cobb of Edmore; sister, Margaret (Bud) Longcore of Sand Lake.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Marjorie (Heft) Cole and his brother, Dale Cole.

Visitation and funeral services for Dan are being held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St). Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM. The funeral ceremony will begin at 11 AM with Pastor E.J. Wolf officiating. Dan will be laid to rest at McBride Cemetery.

For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Dan’s memory the family suggests you direct them to the Frost Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Due to COVID restrictions in place by the State Health Department the number of people allowed at the visitation and funeral are limited to 25 people and the family asks for your understanding.
