Daniel L. Alexander, age 55, of Sumner, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 25th at his home. Daniel was born on December 8, 1955, the son of Rollin L. & Josephine A. (Drake) Alexander.
Daniel is survived by his parents, his wife, Sheila L. Alexander, three daughters, Jenny & David Marsh of Stanton, Jessica & Terry Ellis of Mt. Pleasant, Heather Alexander of Ithaca, an honorary son; his grandson, Gage, who was his “Bud”, an honorary daughter, Nicki & Ethan LeMasters & their three children, of Sumner, eight grandchildren, with another one on the way, one sister, Debra & Floyd Sowles of Stanton, and two brothers, Rollin & Jean Alexander of Vickeryville and Michael & Anne Alexander of Sheridan.
Formerly of Stanton, Daniel has lived in Sumner the past four years. He was employed as the superintendent of Chapel Gardens Cemetery, Alma. He loved to fish, Halloween was his favorite holiday, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition, he had a love of music, whether it was playing the piano, guitar or singing and he was a huge Beatles fan.
Funeral services for Daniel will be held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan on Thursday, March 31, 2011, beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Stephen Mowat officiating.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
