Obituary for Dale Nelson

A. Dale Nelson, age 80, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Stanton. Dale was born on November 30, 1934 in Greenville, the son of Arnold & Emeline (Herrick) Nelson.

On June, 12, 1954 in Stanton, Dale was married to the former Betty Lou Thomsen and she proceed him in death on February 3, 2010.

Dale grew up in Stanton and returned there in 1998 after living in Lansing and Webberville while raising his family. They spent many weekends and family vacations camping and boating with close friends, Donald & Ruth Hansen and family. He was the owner and operator of Central Refrigeration Supply and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Stanton.

Dale is survived by three daughters; Luanne & Howard Cutler of Sparks, Nevada, Mary Newell of Richmond, Texas, Belinda Nelson & Michael Orchin of Katy, Texas, three grandchildren; Lance & Danielle Cutler of Gibsonville, North Carolina, Nicholas Newell of Richmond, Texas and Haley Orchin of Katy, Texas and two great-grandchildren; Zoriahna Cutler and Lance Cutler II of Gibsonville, North Carolina.

Visitation with Dale’s family will be on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the First Congregational Church in Stanton from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral services for Dale are being held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the First Congregational Church in Stanton beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Final interment will be at the South Sidney Cemetery.

For those desiring to make a memorial donation in Dale’s memory the family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
