Chet Brush

July 25, 1930 — August 20, 2019

Chester G. Brush, age 89 of Stanton, went to his eternal home in heaven, surrounded in love by his family on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

If you ever needed an example of how to be a great man, loving husband, wonderful dad or super grandpa, and awesome great grandpa, you didn’t need to look any farther then Chet Brush. His work ethic, zest for life and passion for helping others was an inspiration to everyone and will be a lasting legacy for him. Chet worked and retired from GM’s Fisher Body. In 1988 he and his wife Nancy moved from the Grand Ledge area to Derby Lake. Chet was a talented craftsman who enjoyed wood carving and could build most anything. He was a member of the Stanton 1st Congregational Church, Nomad Mission Group and a former Boy Scout leader. For many years, Chet and Nancy would winter out west in Arizona and California, where they would work at various missions. Chet will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Surviving Chet is his wife of 71 years, Nancy; daughter, Dolores (Jerry) Campbell of Grand Ledge; sons, James (Andy) Brush of Grand Ledge; Robert (Sandy) Brush of Grand Ledge; George (Maria) Brush of Lakewood, Colorado; grandchildren, Jeff Espie; Kim (Bob) Fekete; Jennifer (Jason) Todd; Jamie (Mark) Southworth; Merry Beth (Justin) Scott; Jon (Katie) Brush; Joe Brush and Dan (Taylor) Brush, as well as 12 great grandchildren.

Chet was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy & Elaine (Walter) Brush; sister, Agnes Marvin and brother, Roderic Brush.
