Carolyn J. VanderMey Wolschon, age 81, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Spectrum United Hospital in Greenville.
She was born in Lakeview on August 1, 1940, the daughter of John W. and Dora M. (Apps) VanderMey. Carolyn graduated from Sheridan Rural Agriculture High School in 1958. She married Marco J. Wolschon on January 20, 1968. Together they raised two daughters.
Carolyn enjoyed flea markets, traveling, camping, and many other activities with her husband and girls when she was younger. In her later years she liked working on crosswords and sudoku puzzles. Carolyn worked for 20 years at two lumber yards as a bookkeeper and she retired after 20 from the Post Office.
After her retirement she enjoyed spending time between Michigan and Georgia. She was a member of St. Bernadette of Lourdes and St. Catherine’s in Georgia where she had many friends.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Marco Wolschon of Sheridan; daughter, Connie (Taylor) Lewis of Sheridan; son-in-law, Ronald Feuerstein of Trenton, Georgia; sister, Phylis (Steve) Kelbert of Lansing; brother, Jim (Gail) Wolschon of Greenville; grandchildren, Kris (Dana) Thomas of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Kevin (Tiffiney) Thomas of Trenton, Georgia, Stephanie (Brad) Denny of Lake Odessa, Shanda (Brian) Hopkins of Greenville; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Feuerstein; her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine & Marvin Brough; mother-in-law and father-in-law Charles & Thelema Wolschon; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley & Dominic Ridgell; nephew, Scott Wolschon and Teddy Ridgell; and niece Kelly Petrucelli.
Visitation for Carolyn is being held on Tuesday, June 21st from 10 to 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City (404 N. Division St.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Carolyn’s memory the family suggests you direct them to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church.
