Carol Drobish

March 4, 1930 — October 15, 2019

Carol Drobish, age 89 of Stanton, passed away peacefully under the loving care of her family on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.

Carol was a person who would make you smile and laugh. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being around people. A stay-at-home mom until her youngest daughter was in 5th grade, Carol then started her teaching career at the Stanton Elementary; a position she would hold for the next 20+ years. Carol was a big supporter of the performing arts and would often use classical music to help wake her kids up on the weekends. Later in life Carol enjoyed her quilting group, reading, and was very active at the Stanton First Congregational Church. In 2010 Carol suffered a stroke and for the past 9 years she and her husband Ed were inseparable; they could always be found holding hands everywhere they went as he provided the loving and tender care she needed. Another thing Carol and Ed liked to do was traveling, with their yearly trips to Bar Harbor, Maine, Yellowstone National Park, and Gulf Shores, Alabama being their favorite places to go. However, of all these things, what Carol loved the most was her family. She loved cooking for them, spending time with them, and being a part of their lives. She was her kids and grandkids biggest cheerleader and their #1 fan. Carol will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her and fondly remembered by everyone who loved her.

Surviving Carol is her husband of 69 years, Ed Drobish; daughters, Barb (Mike) Emmorey of Brighton; Martha (Chad) Piper of Lansing; sons, John (Linda) Drobish of Gowen; Paul (Verna) Drobish of Killdeer, North Dakota; Mark (Brenda) Drobish of Orofino, Idaho; grandchildren, Justin Drobish; Ian (Melissa) Drobish; Marylou (Rob) Dungerow; Meghan (Don) Roda; Miles Drobish; Ryan (Sarah) Emmorey; Matt Emmorey; Kristen (Korey) Forbes; Lacie (Eric) Metso; Leslie (Bill) Loveland; Nate Drobish; Mattie Drobish; Nick Drobish; Allie Piper; Tess Piper; Rem Piper; great grandchildren, Ashlyn; Hailey; Bennett; Kendal; Owen; Jackson; William; brother, Carl (Charlotte) Rylander of Quincy, Illinois, and her Illinois family.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Melna (Meyer) Rylander; grandson, Jordan Drobish and a great nephew, Ty Rylander.
