Brent Cornell Sr.

Brent M. Cornell, Sr., age 45 of Sumner passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 27, 2017 under the loving care of his family and Heartland Hospice.

With a great sense of humor, free spirit and an easy-going personality, Brent would light up any room he walked into. He lived by the motto “Work hard and play even harder”. When he was working, he operated Heavy Equipment for JE Kloote Contracting and when he wasn’t working he liked to ride his Harley, drawing and trying his luck at the casino, but most of all Brent loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with them and really loved being a grandpa.

Preceding Brent in death is his grandpa, Jay Cummings; his grandma, Eunice Cummings and his aunt, Sharon Barker.

Brent is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jodi; daughter, Ashley Cornell of Sumner; son, Brent Cornell Jr. of Sumner; granddaughter, Raylynne Beavers of Sumner; mother, Beth (Bruce) Trevorrow of Rosebush; father, Bob Sr. (Deb) Cornell of Rockford; brothers, Bob Jr. (Brenda) Cornell of Rockford, Brandon (Michelle) Cornell of Howell, Bruce (Tabitha) Trevorrow of Mt. Pleasant and his niece, Diandra Huggins of Alma and many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Brent’s family is being held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main Street).

Funeral services for Brent will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
