Jean Hallock

September 2, 1933 — November 13, 2021

Jean Hallock passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, and her husband of 68 years, Keith Hallock, passed away just 8 days later, on November 21, 2021, both passing away in Greenville at Spectrum Health United Hospital.

Keith and Jean were residents of the Ithaca area for the past 40 years and they were both active members of the First United Methodist Church in St. Louis. Jean spent many years teaching school, having earned her teaching degree from Central Michigan University. She was also the Deputy County Treasurer for Montcalm County before her retirement. Keith worked for the Montcalm County Road Commission and Schultz Equipment of Ithaca, before his retirement at 62. Keith proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was on the Joseph P. Kennedy destroyer. Keith and Jean enjoyed spending their winters in Orange Beach, Alabama. Keith was a Master Mason and Jean was a member of the Eastern Star. They were loving parents, wonderful grandparents, and loving spouses to each other. They will be greatly missed by everyone, but their family takes comfort in knowing they are both together again in Heaven.

Surviving Keith and Jean is their daughter, Shelley (Clement) Cizio of Kalamazoo; sons, Brad (Jodie) Hallock of Sheridan and Doug Hallock of Six Lakes; grandchildren, Sandi Georgiades (Don Miller) of Grant, Brad Jr. (Michelle) Hallock of Greenville, Chad (Jenni) Hallock of Ithaca, Brandi Hallock (Lisa Perry) of Greenville, Jeremy (Nicole) Hallock of Greenville, Melissa (Lee) Larson of Kalamazoo, Mitchell (Meagan) Sowles of Trufant, Leslie (Josh) Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Alyssa Palethorpe (Allen Roszell) of Sheridan; many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and lots of great friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Winford & Margaret (Baker) Hallock and 9 siblings. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Bernice (Thomsen) Thomas and brother, Charles Thomas. Together they were both preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Dayzi Georgiades.

Keith and Jean’s life will be celebrated on Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.). Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM with the memorial service starting at 11 AM. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton, immediately after the memorial service.

For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Keith and Jean’s memory the family suggests you direct them to the First United Methodist Church in St. Louis. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
