Betty J. Jackson, age 83, of Hersey, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Hospice.
Betty was born in Hastings, Michigan and married Ronald Jackson on September 17, 1954. They had five beautiful children, while adopting siblings Terry & Debbie Hamilton after her mom passed away. Betty worked at many places such as Rosepatch & Label, Carbaknal, and Middltons Music. She loved to travel, make crafts, and crochet. She and Ron retired to Hersey while they still traveled to Texas for the winters. Betty loved spending quality time with friends and family, especially her grandkids. She was a strong, independent, and very affectionate woman, who will be greatly missed by everyone.
Surviving Betty is husband, Ronald Jackson of Hersey; daughters, Deb (Terry) Miller-Pallick; Kelly (Otis) Johnston of Ionia; sons, Richard (Teresa) Jackson of Ravenna, Todd (Alicia) Jackson of Stanwood; grandchildren, Phillip Smith, Jeremiah Jackson, Paul Smith, Jennifer Jackson, Kurt Smith, Keri Levine, Lacy Fulcher, Megan Jackson, Joyce Jackson, Ronald Jackson; great grandchildren, Paige, Lucas, Hunter, Riley, Avery, Brooke, Katelyn, Eli, Natalie, Madeline, Carter, Hudson, Skilar, Carley, Shane, Brittany, Brady; great great grandkids, Pamela and Terry; brothers, Tim Landis of Hawkins, Danny Landis of Alto, Willard Landis, Jr. of Kansas, Terry (Alice) Hamilton of Canada; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon & Mary Giddings of Rodney; and her beloved dogs, Daisey, Pearl, and Patty.
Betty was preceded in death by her mom and stepdad, Margaret & Loren Hamilton; dad and stepmom, Willard & Catherine Landis; sons, Ronnie Jackson and Scott Jackson; sisters, Iris Redlack and Barb Landis; brothers, John Landis, Gordon Landis, Richard Hamilton, Devon Hamilton, David McCain and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted & Doris Jackson.
Betty’s life is being celebrated on Monday, August 23rd at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St). Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12 Noon. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon. Final interment will be at Tuttle Cemetery in Ionia.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to direct memorial donations in Betty’s memory to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Spectrum Hospice.
