Jeana & Jeff, Jane & Bruce, John & Anne. Our condolences go out to you on the loss of your father. Growing up as Williams we were fortunate to have Bernie as an uncle. When he saw you his eyes would light up and then came his great smile! He always had a kind word to say to you and wanted to know what you were doing. And his laugh, what a great laugh. It was unique, not loud, not quite but soft & kind and full of compassion. I will always remember his smile, laugh and kind words. May he peacefully rest in the arms of Jesus.

Bernie will be missed as he touched the lives of so many. He started at my bus driver at the age of 5 and continued to be an important part of my life. Always there with a hug, to help heal the pain over the past couple years after losing my grandparents. I’ll miss his smile and hugs! My thoughts and prayers go to all of you in your time of loss of an amazing man!!

To the Bernie Williams Family: I am saddened by the passing of Bernie. He was a very gentle man. One of my favorite memories occurred in 1974 just after the Central Montcalm Middle School opened. Bernie and I were entering the building and found a Rattle Snake also trying to enter. Bernie politely prevented that to happen and disposed of the snake. We laughed that maybe it needed an education. Bernie and I for years would laugh about that incident. May his soul rest in peace. Jim Whitmer
