Barre D. Garey, age 90 of Alma, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
He was born in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Harry & Effie (Covey) Garey and they along with his son, Tadd Garey and his sister, Joyceann Meyers precede him in death.
Surviving Barre is his wife, Jo Garey of Alma; daughter, Deb LeJeune of Germantown, Wisconsin; three step daughters, Rhonda (Al) Myers of Stanton; Karen (Aaron) Garcia of Oregon; Ann Williams of Fenwick; two step sons, Richard (Pam) Carlson of St. Louis; Jeff (Sandy) Carlson of California; five grandchildren; many step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.
Barre was a proud veteran having served his country in the US Army. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons for over 60 years and was a member of the St. Albans Lodge No. 20 in Marshall. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Alma where both he and his wife, Jo sang in the choir.
A memorial service is being held at the Masonic Pathway Chapel in Alma on Saturday March 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
