Barbara Jean Galloup

Barbara J. Galloup, age 89, of Greenville, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Hospice.

Barbara was a very giving and compassionate person; she absolutely loved to cook and bake for her family, especially during the holidays.  She enjoyed all the beautiful things in nature, watching the birds come to her feeders, being outdoors, and was always puttering in her numerous flower gardens on the Pine River.  She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Surviving Barbara is her daughter, Deborah (Michael) Pelton of Greenville; son, Danny (Tina) Galloup of Birdseye, Indiana and Dennis (Kimberly) Galloup of Fremont.  6 grandchildren, Christopher Pelton of Grand Rapids, Jeannette Pelton of Kentwood, Jeffrey Pelton (Regina Ramos) of Glenview, Illinois, Tamber Galloup of Jasper, Indiana, Nicholas (Jessica) Galloup of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Jesse Galloup of Fremont; 11 great grandchildren, Jennah, Iain, Braeden, Devon, Anna, Andrew, Austin, Anthony (Shania), Kavan (Evelyn), Ethan, and Easton; 2 great-great grandchildren, Lilly and Waylon;  2 sisters, Ida Train of Sheridan and Dorothy Letts of Ionia; 2 brothers, Donald Cook of Ionia and Gary (Sandy) Cook of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Lelah Cook of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews along with their families.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Sr. & Florence (Olsen) Cook; beloved husband, Fay Galloup; brother, Arthur Cook, Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Don Train and James Letts.

Memorial services celebrating Barbara’s life are being held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) on Sunday, July 17th at 2 PM.
