Assunta “Susie” Kazmerski, age 60 of Stanton, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
A strong and determined woman, Susie was well known for her delicious and amazing food at her restaurant in Stanton, Mamma Mia. She loved people and visiting with them; people would come into the restaurant as a stranger but would leave as a friend and part of her family. She really liked telling everyone stories about her wonderful homeland, Italy.
Surviving Susie is her husband, Robert Kazmerski of Stanton; daughters, Nicole Kazmerski (Gavino Vetrano) of Naples, Italy; Allison Kazmerski (Christian Rowland) of Stanton; sisters, Angela (Dallas) Poole of Havelock, North Carolina; Anna Maria (Dave) Gagnon of Kenosha, Wisconsin; brother, Giuseppe Esposito of Naples, Italy; several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Preceding Susie in death is her mother, Cristina Gentile; father, Armando Esposito and brother, Rosario Esposito.
A celebration of Susie’s life is being held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from noon to 4 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street). Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Susie’s memory, you are asked to keep the needs of the family in mind as they deal with the mountain of medical bills Susie acquired during her stay in the hospital.
