Arlene E. Hadley, age 91, of Stanton, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 in Grand Rapids at Spectrum Health Butterworth.
Chances are if you Googled the phrase, “unassuming humble servant”, a photo of Arlene would appear. First and foremost, she loved Jesus and loved serving Him. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Stanton, where she worked with the Pioneer Girls, AWANA, and Junior Church. Arlene absolutely loved to read and study the Bible and would never miss an opportunity to talk to you about God. Arlene also loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids, and she enjoyed every moment spent with them. While she was meek and mild, Arlene was also fiercely independent and the leader of her family. She retired from the Montcalm County Road Commission after 30+ years of service there. Arlene will be dearly missed by everyone.
Surviving Arlene are her children, Dennis Hadley of Stanton, Curtis (Kathy) Hadley of Haslett, Steve (Teri) Hadley of Lake Odessa, and Charlene Wood of Stanton; grandchildren, David Hadley, Jenna Shively, Eric (Sydney) Hadley, Shane Hadley, and Ty Hadley; great grandchildren, Kynder and Jason; and sister-in-law, Donna Hart of Stanton.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, George & Ellen (Thayer) Hart; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
A celebration of Arlene’s life is being held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.) from 4 to 6 PM. Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Arlene’s memory the family suggests you direct them to the First Baptist Church of Stanton.
