Andrew L. Hanna, age 75 of Stanton, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Spectrum Health Hospice in Grand Rapids.
Andy was a guy who didn’t really like to be indoors and would do anything to be outdoors. He loved to go deer hunting and fishing; he had a 200 acre start to finish hog farm and he also operated Whitetail Excavating LLC, with his son Mark, where they would make ponds and berms for fishing and various wildlife projects. At one point, Andy was the 1st Mate on Bob Mackey’s Charter boat, he studied and enjoyed taxidermy, and was involved with horse racing for 20+ years. In high school, Andy was the president of the Rockford FFA. However, the thing Andy loved the most, even above hunting, fishing, and being outdoors was his family. He loved being a grandpa and spending time with his grandchildren and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving Andy is his wife of 53 years, Nina Hanna; daughter, Laura (Don) Loveless of Stanton; son, Mark (Autumn) Hanna of Alma; grandchildren, Alysa; Cole; Sadie; Corinne; Kira; Lane; sisters, Linda (Richard) Goldner of Rockford; Michelle (Troy) Sinclair of Florida; Norma Pretzel of Canadian Lakes; brothers, Bob (Sandy) Hanna of Indiana; Mack Hanna of Crooked Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Florence (Harris) Hanna; daughter, Treena Fay Hanna and brother-in-law, Martin Pretzel.
A memorial service celebrating Andy’s life is being held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Sheridan First Congregational Church (113 S. Main St.) beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Phil Van Dop officiating.
