Alice L. Harmon, age 61, of Ionia, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Portland Assisted Living & Memory Center in Portland.
Alice absolutely loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially in the fall, and going camping. Alice loved her family with every ounce of her being, particularly her husband, daughter, and all her grandbabies. She was great in the kitchen and took joy in teaching her daughter Jennifer to cook. Alice adored her cats, liked watching Wheel of Fortune, going shopping, and listening to her vinal records. She was also stubborn and independent and never let a bump in the road slow her down. Alice will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Surviving Alice is her mom, Ilo Ford of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Jennifer Hunt of Ionia and Loraine Cooper (Alonizso Moore) of Stanton; grandchildren, Anthony Swanson of Ionia; Nathan Hunt of Ionia; Megan Hunt of Sheridan; Zain Hunt of Sheridan; brother, George Ford of Columbus, Ohio; former son-in-law and father to her grandchildren, B.J. Hunt of Sheridan; lifelong friends, Anne; Sandy; and Michelle; and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Alice was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Ford and her husband, Roy Harmon.
Visitation for Alice will be on Wednesday, May 26th, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main Street) from 10 to 11 AM. The memorial service celebrating Alice’s life will begin at 11 AM also on Wednesday.
