Obituary

Ronald Kruszkowski, age 84, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 23, 2020, under the loving care of his family and friends.

It didn’t take long after meeting Ron to realize he was a person you wanted to be around. Between his sense of humor, quick wit, and infectious laugh, you always knew you were in for a good time when you were with Ron. Before moving to the Sheridan area 50 years ago, Ron was a Vice-Detective for the Chicago Police Department, where he received 5 department commendations. After moving to Sheridan, Ron was deputized into the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department and worked as a Circuit Court bailiff for many years. Ron also owned and operated his own private investigation company, Compass Investigations and also helped people with their social security disability claims; this was something he was extremely proud of and considered this to be one highlights of his career. When he wasn’t working, Ron could be found fishing both on the area local lakes and in Canada where he would go with his great friends. He loved going deer and rabbit hunting with his sons and could be found every Sunday in the fall watching and cheering for his beloved Chicago Bears.

Surviving Ron is his daughter, Linda Daniel of Burt; son, Jim (Teresa) Kruszkowski of Belding; grandchildren, Corporal Alex (Mikayla) Niedecken, USMC; of North Carolina; Mark Niedecken of Burt; Anthony (Colleen) Kruszkowski of Jupiter, Florida; Wendy (Jason) Marlowe of Hudsonville; Heather Sain of Ionia; Megan (Dylan) Meyers of Greenville; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; countless great friends and his beloved dog and best friend, Pistol Pete.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, John & Clara (Wawrzywiak) Kruszkowski; his beloved wife, Donna; son, Bill Kruszkowski and brother, Richard Kruszkowski.

Ron’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Sheridan Cemetery (30 Condensery Road, Sheridan). Visitation will be from 11 AM until 12 Noon with the funeral ceremony starting at 12 Noon. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and Executive Orders issued by the Governor, social distancing will be practiced, and guests are asked to bring their own chair.

We will miss our Uncle Ronny very much. We have many wonderful memories of time spent in Michigan as children. We have made a donation in honor of his (and ours) Chicago Bears. (Bears Care, the charitable arm of the Chicago Bears. Donations go directly to supporting programs that make a measurable difference in lives of those that are less fortunate, those that battle cancer or those that need a helping hand to reach their full potential).

Rest in peace, Kris and Donna

Just wanted to share a very precious memory about Ron. Ron and I have shared many phone calls, but this personal message to me hit my heart, , "On August 1st, Ron sent me a message stating that Nan...this is to let you know I'll be your friend forever... Carl is my favorite...!" Forever it is my friend! Rest well! Love always, Carl Wall and Nan.
