Obituary

Leo J. Lanning, Sr., age 72 of Six Lakes, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview.

He was born the son of Melvin and Frances (Christensen) Lanning and they along with one sister, Lisa Denton and two brothers, George Lanning and Calvin Lanning precede him in death.

Leo loved to be outdoors, going fishing and especially loved deer hunting on his 40 acres property. He retired from General Motors after working there for many years. In his younger days, Leo participated in the Golden Gloves amateur boxing competition where he was a state champion. Of all the things Leo did, what he enjoyed the most was being around his family and spending time with them.

Surviving Leo is his wife, Patsy Lanning of Six Lakes; daughter, Tracy (Joe) Finch of Wisconsin; sons, Dr. Leo Jr. (Chris) Lanning of Hastings; Mike Scott of Edmore; Chad Scott of Stanton; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In honoring Leo’s wishes no formal ceremony is being held.

Patsy and family - We are so saddened to learn of Leo's passing. You are in our prayers. May God's peace surround you at this difficult time. The Holt Class of 1965 remembers Leo with great fondness. Many have expressed their sympathy and are holding you all in their prayers. ((Hugs))
