Obituary for Joan Ford

Joan Ford, age 80, of Lakeview, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 30, 2020, under the loving care of her family and Kindred Hospice.

Joanie was a woman who could outwork people half her age and often did. She loved to volunteer and work with the kids at the Lazy T Ranch, which is a Christian camp run by her church. Joan also took great joy in making a quilt for each of her grandkids and steppingstones with her great grandkids. If you went to Joanie’s house for dinner or a family celebration, it was all but guaranteed that you would not go away hungry; her banana bread, apple butter, and jams were always a hit with her family.

Joan loved going to thrift stores and secondhand shops and had a special ability to find great deals. She liked being outdoors and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. But of all the things Joan liked doing, being a mom and grandma were her favorite. Her family meant the world to her and she will be deeply missed by everyone.

Surviving Joan are her daughters, Kim (Rich) Beach of Lakeview; Paula Ford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Tom (Brenda) Ford of Lakeview; grandchildren, Chanda Ford of Grand Rapids; Tom (Nikki) Ford of Grand Rapids; Michele (Mike) Helmer of Blanchard; Nicole (Mike) Case of Greenville; Danielle (Seth) Rosenthal of Jasper, Texas; Victoria (Sean) Porter of Raeford, North Carolina; Jesse Preibe of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jeffrey Dunham (Becca Lindgren) of Grand Haven; Scott Dunham of Cleveland, Ohio; great grandchildren, Azariah; Aidrick; Gabriel; Hailey; Laylah; Cameron; Makayla; Madisyn; Kacy; Chloe; Abby; Carter; Laynie; Josephine; Kiley; Katelin; Logan; Payton; Aliya; sisters, Marilyn Moxon of Lincoln Park; Patty (Mark) Roma of Howell; Gail (Mat) Arnaudo of Alger; and her beloved dog, Rudy.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Josephine (Livernois) Sieloff and her husband, Paul Ford.
Memorial services for Joan are being held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Pine Chapel (223 3rd Street) in Blanchard with Pastor Tom Olrich and Pastor Jerry Carlson officiating.
