Obituary for Jean Elaine Miller

Jean E. Miller, age 91 of Stanton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Vestaburg under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Hospice.

If you were to ask Jean if she was up for an adventure, road trip, or to try something new, the answer was always yes! She was not one to sit around or stay put very long. Jean loved her family and was always going to her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s games and activities. She loved cooking for them and making desserts (the sweeter the better). She also liked watching NASCAR and was always cheering for Kyle Busch. She liked going for rides with her son Steve as they “patrolled” the streets at night. Jean was loved by many and will be fondly remembered by everyone.

Jean’s family would especially like to thank everyone at Spectrum Hospice and especially Lindsay Kohagen for the wonderful and loving care they provided to her.

Surviving Jean is her daughter, Kathy (Michael) Harnack of Vestaburg; son, Steve (Kathy) Miller of Stanton; grandchildren, Jayson Chapin of Belding; Jaymi (Jake) Soule of Sheridan; Jessica Miller (Marc Ackley) of Greenville; Michael (Michelle) Harnack of Stanton; Justin (April) Harnack of Vestaburg; great grandchildren, Jaylynn, Porter, Jaxon, Faith, Bailey, Jacob, Jenna, Jazmine, Mason, Grace, Gunnar, Kayson; brother, Keith (Jeanne) Hallock of Ithaca; sisters-in-law, Pat Miller of Grand Rapids; Sharon Miller of Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Winifred & Margaret (Baker) Hallock, her husband, Jack Miller; two granddaughters, Mary Harnack and Elizabeth Harnack; great grandson, Jacob Rose and her siblings, Archie; Georgia; Stanley; Esther; Gladys; Maynard; Wayne; Winnie.

A celebration of Jean’s life is being held on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street) with lunch being provided as part of this celebration. There will be a time for sharing memories and stories of Jean with everyone at 1:30 PM. Memorial donations in Jean’s memory may be directed to Spectrum Hospice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home on Friday.
