Obituary for Dennis Edwards

Dennis D. Edwards, age 68 of Fenwick, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 22, 2019, passing away at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer.

There are a few facts about Dennis that everyone should know. First, the man would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, he was just that kind of guy. Second, if you knew him and ran into him somewhere he would take time to talk to you and if you didn’t know him and ran into him he would take the time to talk to you and get to know you, Dennis never met a stranger. Finally, Dennis loved his family, he liked going fishing with them, enjoyed his yearly family camping trip to Lyman Lake and spending time with his grandkids. Dennis also appreciated antique trucks and built two of them himself, tinkering with things as he was a jack-of-all-trades. Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, he also attended and was baptized at the Sidney Christian Church.

Surviving Dennis is his wife of 49 years, Karen Edwards; daughters, Brenda (Clay) Sinclair of Stanton; Trisha (Shane) Daggett of Sheridan; son, Jason Edwards (Becky Welch) of Sheridan; grandchildren, Brittany (Weston) Waldron; Brooke (Gunner) Graves; Kasey (Heath) Wolverton; Lindsey Sinclair; Kyle (Kendra) Daggett; Caleb (Kori) Daggett; Courtney Daggett; Kala Daggett; Austin Edwards (Breanna Murray); Landen Edwards; Keagan Eddy and Katelyn Eddy; great grandchildren, Kelsie; Aliyah; Avery; Freyja; Mason and soon to be born, Baby Wolverton; brothers, Terry (Barb) Edwards of Plainwell and Mike (Deanna) Edwards of Sheridan and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lee & Ludean Wonch of Crystal.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Dale & Maxine (Greenhoe) Edwards and his daughter-in-law, Misty Edwards.

A memorial service celebrating Dennis’s life is being held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 beginning at 11 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St), with Pastor Bernard Loew officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior from 10 to 11 AM also at the funeral home.
