Obituary

Brandy L. Barna, age 40 of Ionia, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Metron of Greenville.

Brandy was the type of person who could make you laugh with her quick wit, great sense of humor and her love of “all things fun”. She was very artistic and loved to brighten the world with color. She was a good cook and was especially known for her lasagna. Brandy loved her dog, Bear; but most of all Brandy loved her family. She loved going to her son’s sporting events, taking them to the beach and just spending time with them. Brandy will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Surviving Brandy is her mom, Gay Starkweather of Ionia; her husband, Troy Barna of Ionia; sons, Noah Barna and Parker Barna both of Ionia; daughter, Mackenzie Barna of Saranac; sister, Krista (Dallas) Eavey of Ionia and her brother, David Starkweather of California.

Brandy was preceded in death by two sisters, Lisa Starkweather and Renee Starkweather and her maternal grandparents, Earl & Hope Hoag.

A celebration of Brandy’s life is being planned for a later date.

I was one of the aides that took care of Brandy while she was at metron. And her smile alone could light up the room. She is so deeply missed and I'll miss seeing her beautiful face everyday at work. Fly high beautiful and watch over your babies. Prayers for the family.

I remember last summer Brandy, Sara, Sam and myself sitting on the front steps of my apartment building. The people upstairs had to call there mental health worker and wait in there truck until she arrived just to walk past us on the steps. Now if you know Brandy and I mean really know Brandy she didn't keep her mouth shut! She had us girls laughing so hard we were crying. im going to miss you so much Brandy!
