Q – Do you offer cremation services?
A – Yes. We can assist families who choose cremation.
Q - Can someone still have a visitation and funeral if they are going to be cremated?
A - Yes. Cremation is an alternative to burial, so many families choose to have a visitation and funeral service followed by cremation.
Q – I don’t live in the Sheridan or Stanton area; can you still handle my funeral or memorial service?
A – Yes. While the physical locations of our funeral homes are in Sheridan and Stanton, we can, and have handled many services in the surrounding areas.
Q – What is the difference between a funeral service and memorial service?
A – A funeral service is where the deceased’s body is present at the service. A memorial service is where the deceased’s body is not present.
Q – Does a funeral service have to be held in the funeral home?
A – No. A funeral service can take place in most any location; a church, the persons home, a favorite hunting spot, or a park are just a few examples of places a funeral service can be held.
Q – We don’t know any ministers, can you help?
A – Yes. We have good relationships with many of the local pastors and they are more than willing to help families who don’t have a regular minister.
Q – Does a minister have to officiate at all funeral services?
A – No. While most families do choose to have a minister, there are no regulations that require one.
Q – Can I pre-arrange my funeral service in advance?
A – Yes. Actually, we encourage people who are thinking about making pre-arrangements to contact us directly, so we can explain all of the options available to you.
Q – Do you offer headstones and markers?
A – Yes, we have a full line of monuments, markers and headstones available.
Q – What is needed for a veteran to receive a flag and/or a government marker?
A - A copy of their discharge papers, form DD-214. We have all of the necessary forms at the funeral home and will be happy to fill everything out for you.
Q - I need a certified copy of a death certificate, where do I go?
A - Death Certificates are always filed in the county where the death has occured. You can go to the County Clerk's office to get more certified copies. Each county charges a fee for certified copies and you should check with them to find out their fee.
Q - How do I notify Social Security that my loved one has passed away?
A - We will do that for you using a form provided to us by the Social Security Administration.
Q - My parents go south in the winter, what should I do if something happens to them while they are out of state?
A - Call us first and DO NOT call a funeral home where they are vacationing. By calling us first, we are able to coordinate everything from here, saving you thousands of dollars.
Q - If a death occurs in the middle of the night, when should I call you?
A - Call us anytime, day or night. We are always available 24/7.
Q - Who is the closest florist to the funeral home?
A - Rustic Floral in Stanton is the closest florist to both our Sheridan and Stanton location.
