Roger W. Peterman

Roger W. Peterman, age 82, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, July 23rd at home with his family faithfully at his side. He was born on October 3, 1927 in Sidney, the son of Ray & Florence (Fish) Peterman.

On October 1, 1949, Roger was married to Wanda Jean Munn in Sheridan and she survives in addition to their children, Connie & Harold Schultz, Fay & Daryl Williams, Sandy & Veldra Raines, all of Stanton plus Sherri & David Jeffrey of Sheridan, Wayne Peterman of Riverdale and Alan & Twyla Peterman of Grawn, MI, in addition to 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, two sisters, Pauline Cope of Sidney and Deloise Stewart of Stanton, a sister-in-law, Grace Black of Howard City and several nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Florence Peterman, a sister, Rosemond “Bluie” Peterman and a brother, Norman Peterman.

Roger has been a lifelong resident of the Sidney area and was retired from the Carnation Company in Sheridan, as well as the Montcalm County Courthouse where he worked in custodial and maintenance services. He was a member of the Montcalm County Sheriff Posse. Roger enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and his beloved dog, “Bucky”.

Funeral services for Roger will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan, beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Interment will be at the Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, MI.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 26th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
