Basil F. Cope

Basil F. Cope, age 70, of Sidney, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at home with his family at his side. He was born on June 18, 1940 in Greenville, the son of Clarence & Gladys (Hall) Cope. Both parents have preceded him in death along with three brothers and one sister.
On July 30, 1960, Basil was married to the former Pauline B. Peterman in Sidney and she survives in addition to two daughters, Cindy & Donald “Butch” Wiser of Sheridan, Mary Marsh & Craig Currier of Crystal, three sons, Raymond Cope of Sidney, Basil F. Cope Jr. & Rose Wilson of Sidney and Scott & Kinsey Christensen of Greenville plus nine grandchildren, Ami Cope, Basil F. Cope III, Christopher Cope, Kevin Cope, Amber Rodriguez, Linsey Christensen, Morgan Zimmerman, Brad Christensen and Caleb Christensen and three grandchildren, Kaylyn, Joshua and Ashton.
Basil has been a lifelong resident of the Sheridan and Sidney areas. He retired from Electrolux after 42 years of service and he was a man who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 10th beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan, with Pastor Steve Voelker officiating. Interment will be at the Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, Michigan.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, July 9th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.

I worked with Basil in the warehouse at Exlectrolux, And he was a great guy to work with, cause if you were having trouble doing your job, he step in and help with out even being asked.
